This Shrimp Fry is simple, yet very delicious. It can be served with steamed rice or as an appetizer. A balanced diet that includes eating shrimp may be good for cardiovascular health. 100 g of shrimp has less than 0.3 g of fat and most of it is unsaturated. Ingredients

For Marinating the Shrimp 

  • Shrimp peeled & deveined – 1 lb (454 gm)
  • Garlic/Ginger paste – 1 tsp
  • Chili powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Black pepper powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Chickpea flour or besan – 1 tbsp
  • Corn flour – 1 tbsp
  • Lime juice (from 1/2 lime) – ~2 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
For Seasoning
  • Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Canola oil – 3 tsp

Method

  • Add all the “marinating ingredients” to the shrimp
  • Mix well to coat them evenly & set aside for 30 minutes
  • Heat oil in a non-stick skillet. Splutter fennel seeds & add curry leaves
  • Add marinated shrimp into it
  • Cook 15 -20 minutes with occasional stirring
  • Remove the skillet from the stove
  • Serve hot immediately & Enjoy!
