Potatoes are good source of vitamins and minerals that includes vitamin C, vitamin B6 potassium and iron. This Spicy Potato Fry, is an excellent side dish that goes well with steamed rice or as an appetizer. It is made of simple ingredients yet very delicious. Ingredients for Spicy Potato Fry:

  • Potatoes – 1 lb
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1/4 tsp
  • Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Canola oil – 1.5 tsp


  • Wash potatoes and pressure cook them in the Instant Pot electric pressure cooker for 7 minutes
  • Open it once the pressure is released
  • Drain off water and set aside to cool
  • Peel the skin off potatoes
  • Chop them into cubes
  • Add the chili powder and salt to the potato cubes
  • Toss to coat well
  • Heat oil in a non-stick skillet
  • Add the mustard seeds, when it splutter add the potatoes and curry leaves
  • Roast until they reach golden brown
  • Serve hot and enjoy!
